Jaipur, July 17 (HS). Bharatbhai Babubhai Patni, member of the Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Commission constituted by the Government of India, was on a visit to Jaipur on Wednesday. During this, he met the Gadiya blacksmiths in Gadiya blacksmith colony, Loha Mandi, Macheda and Ganeshpuri Kachchi Basti located at Galta Gate, Jaipur.

Deputy Director of Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Krishnakant Sankhla said that during the meeting, Patni informed about the schemes like building construction scheme for the people of Gadiya Lohar community, education of boys and girls, Ayushman card, raw material subsidy scheme, self-help group etc.

Patni said that a request has been made to the state government to provide basic facilities in the settlements of Gadiya blacksmiths and not to displace people from Ganeshpuri Kachhi Basti located at Galta Gate and the settlement located at Macheda. He said that under the Gadiya Blacksmith Housing Scheme run by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, a request was made to the state government to provide them permanent housing first by allocating land for housing construction and providing assistance for building construction.

Bharatbhai Babubhai Patni said in his address that now the time has come that the government is determined to connect the Gadia Lohar community with the mainstream and I will make every effort to double the livelihood and per capita income of the nomadic community. Gadia Lohar Basti Pramukh Hiralal Sankhla and Gadia Lohar State Pramukh Ramgopal also informed the Gadia Lohars about the public welfare schemes run by the state government including the process of making Aadhar Card, Jan Aadhar Card, Caste Certificate, Domicile Certificate etc.
