The famous Jyotirlinga of Lord Bholenath, Kedarnath, is situated in this picturesque environment. One of the 12 famous Jyotirlingas, Lord Shiva in his Rudra form is seated as Swayambhu Shiva in Kedarnath Dham situated at an altitude of 3584 meters. Kedarnath Dham, situated in Rudraprayag district of the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand, is synonymous with the faith and spiritual consciousness of the world. Among the pilgrims coming on the Chardham Yatra, the craze is the highest for Kedarnath Dham. These days, a wave of faith is visible on the path of devotion regarding the Chardham Yatra. At the same time, officials from the administration to the government level are at ground zero for the convenience of the devotees and the Yatra is going on smoothly. So far 27 lakh 24 thousand 679 pilgrims have come in the Chardham Yatra which started on May 10. According to the report released from the Chardham Yatra Control Room, till date the highest number of 9 lakh 90 thousand 340 pilgrims have paid obeisance at Kedarnath Dham. While 784260 devotees have paid obeisance at Badrinath Dham, 4 lakh 61 thousand 157 devotees have paid obeisance at Yamunotri Dham and 4 lakh 88 thousand 922 devotees have paid obeisance at Gangotri Dham. Meanwhile, till date one lakh 14 thousand 927 devotees have paid obeisance at Hemkund Sahib.
