Rohtak, 2 October (Hindustan Reporter). A bhajan program was organized at Maharishi Dayanand University on Wednesday to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti. Renowned singers Kailash Verma and Mukesh Verma paid tribute to the great personalities of India by presenting melodious bhajans. The program was presided over by MDU Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajbir Singh did it. He paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri and asked to take inspiration from these great personalities. The Vice Chancellor said that students should adopt the mantra of 'Come for learning, go for service' and use their education for social upliftment and human welfare.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajbir Singh, Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Anoop Singh Mann, Registrar Prof. Gulshan Lal Taneja, Dean, Student Welfare Prof. Randeep Rana, Senior Professor Dr. Surendra Kumar paid emotional tribute by offering flowers on the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. Renowned singer Kailash Verma started the bhajan program with Ganesh Stuti. He sang many melodious bhajans including the bhajan – Janam Safal Hoga Re Bande Man Mein Ram Basa Le, Ram Naam Sohi Janiye. Mukesh Verma gave a beautiful rendition of Gandhiji's favorite bhajan Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram, How should I hide these breaths' lyrics, Odhi Chadriya named Ram. Kailash Verma and Mukesh Verma concluded the program with a beautiful rendition of Mahatma Gandhi's favorite bhajan Vaishnav Jan To Taine Kahiye Jo Peed Parai Jaane Re.

The stage was conducted by Rajeev Arya, a researcher in the music department. Assistant Director Youth Welfare Dr. Pratap Rathi gave organizing support in the program. The bhajan program was accompanied by Yunus Warsi on violin, Anil Kumar on tabla, Deepak Chawla on keyboard and Ashok Kabir on octapad.
