Police busted a mini gun factory and seized a huge quantity of semi-manufactured weapons in the Amdanda police station area of Bihar's Bhagalpur district on Tuesday evening.
15 semi-manufactured pistols and other items were recovered
Senior Superintendent of Police Anand Kumar said on Tuesday that based on a tip-off, the Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata and Patna and the district police raided the house of Shivnandan Mandal in Chandpur village on Tuesday evening and seized an illegal minigun factory. During this, 15 semi-manufactured pistols, 11 barrels and a large amount of weapons manufacturing equipment were found.
Five smugglers arrested
Five arms smugglers from Munger and Khagaria districts, including the owner of the house, have been arrested from the spot. Criminal cases have been registered against the two arrested smugglers, Ranjit Yadav and Rajesh Mandal, in different police stations of Munger district. A senior superintendent of police said that STF teams from Kolkata and Patna are interrogating all the smugglers and are trying to trace other members of the gang. Police are investigating the terrorist and Naxalite connection.
