Jalpaiguri, July 11 (HS). Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), visited the Tinbigha corridor on the India-Bangladesh border in the area of 06th Battalion BSF, Jalpaiguri Sector of North Bengal Frontier.
He was accompanied by Region Commander of BGB North West Region, Sector Commander Rangpur, Commanding Officer of 51 BGB and other BGB officers. The BSF gave this information in a press release on Thursday.
According to BSF, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF Suryakant Sharma welcomed the Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh at the Tinbigha corridor and exchanged flower bouquets. A smart guard of honour was presented by BSF personnel at the zero line in the presence of senior officers of both the border guarding forces. After which the BGB Director General presented a fruit basket to the guards.
The Director General of BGB interacted with BSF officers as well as soldiers. The Director General of BGB boosted their morale and appreciated their efforts in effectively guarding the Indo-Bangladesh border. The Director General of BGB exchanged mementoes with the Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF and other BSF officers.
