Dungarpur, 26 August (HS). The district has been receiving intermittent rains for the last 24 hours. The neighbouring districts of Banswara and Pratapgarh are also receiving continuous rains. Due to continuous rains, the water inflow in Som and Jakham rivers is continuing due to which the Beneshwar Dham of Dungarpur district has turned into an island. A sheet of water is flowing on the three bridges connecting the Dham.
Due to rain in Dungarpur and neighboring Banswara and Pratapgarh districts, water is flowing into rivers and ponds. At the same time, due to increased water flow in rivers, the Triveni Sangam of the district has turned into an island due to submergence of all three bridges of Beneshwar Dham. On Monday early morning, due to increased water flow in Som and Jakham rivers passing through Beneshwar Dham, Sabla, Ganoda and Valai bridges connecting the Dham got submerged in water, due to which the roads leading to the Dham got blocked. A sheet of water of about three to five feet is flowing on all three bridges connecting the Dham. About 20 people including temple priests and hotel workers are present in the island, who are safe. Here, the police and administration are also on alert due to rain. Policemen have already been deployed on all three bridges by the police department so that no person can cross those bridges. At the same time, the administration has also appealed to the people not to go out on foot or by vehicle through the flowing water.
