Bemetara, 13 April (Hindustan Reporter). Collector Ranbir Sharma and Superintendent of Police Ramkrishna Sahu reached assembly constituency number 70 Navagarh of the district on Saturday for preparations in the polling stations. He flagged off the voter awareness chariot at the rest house. This chariot will motivate voters to vote by visiting areas in Navagarh assembly constituency where less than 70 percent voting took place in the last election. Now on this occasion Additional Collector Dr. Anil Bajpayee, SDM Navagarh Mukesh Gaur and officers and employees of the development block were present.
The Collector inspected various polling stations including Samesar, Gadamore, Sambalpur, Tarpongi and Andhirakhor polling stations. In view of the intense heat at the time of voting on May 7, 2024 in all three assembly constituencies of the district, he said that all proper arrangements should be made in all the polling centers during the Lok Sabha general elections. He said that along with the accommodation arrangements of the polling party, there should not be any negligence in the basic facilities like drinking water, toilets and electricity. He especially gave instructions to set up temporary tents for shade for the voters in those polling centers where there is no arrangement for shade. Also asked the concerned officials to make arrangements for pure drinking water in sufficient quantity for the voters. He also inspected Navagarh check post. Asked the officers to remain alert and attentive.
The Collector said that such arrangements should be made that voters do not face any problem and they are motivated to vote in maximum numbers. He said that the ramps built for the disabled should be of full quality. Any deficiencies should be rectified in time. So that they do not face any kind of problem. Shades and drinking water arrangements should be made for protection from sunlight. Also, arrangements should be made for separate toilets for men and women in polling stations. The Collector and the Superintendent of Police went inside the booths and took stock of the situation.
Superintendent of Police Ramakrishna Sahu said that efforts should be made to have two doors in these chambers and one can go inside through one door and after voting, come out through the other door. The road to reach the polling station should be in good condition, so that voters can reach easily. He said that security arrangements should be maintained at polling stations. Arrange barricades if necessary. He took stock of the security arrangements.
