Belarus’ star tennis player Aryna Sabalenko has won the WTA Player of the Year award for the first time in her career. In addition to winning two Grand Slams this year, Sabalenko ended the season as the number one player in women’s singles. Sabalenko successfully defended her title at the Australian Open in January.
She won the US Open Grand Slam in September. Then in October, she defeated Iga Swiatek of Poland to be crowned No. 1. He won a total of four titles this year including the Cincinnati and Wuhan Open.
