Before voting, 538 polling parties were dispatched to 4 assembly constituencies of Rajouri

Rajouri, May 24 (HS). 3- 538 polling parties were dispatched with polling material on Friday to various polling stations in Rajouri, Thannamandi, Nowshera and Budhal assembly constituencies of Anantnag-Rajouri parliamentary constituency where polling is being held tomorrow.

Amid tight security, polling staff and other logistics left from their respective dispatch centres, marking a significant step in the polling process for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 in Rajouri, Thannamandi, Nowshera and Budhal assembly constituencies. District Election Officer Om Prakash Bhagat personally inspected the dispatch process which is a significant achievement of the district administration, security personnel and election officials.

The District Election Officer expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Stringent security measures have been taken to ensure the safety of polling parties and polling material. The DEO said that the deployment of adequate security personnel will ensure a safe environment for the polling parties to carry out their duties without any hindrance.

There are 389721 voters in the four assembly constituencies which include 202809 men, 186905 women and 07 transgenders. Out of a total of 542 polling stations, 278 have been identified as sensitive. Meanwhile, the District Election Officer made an extensive tour of Nowshera sub-division to review the election preparations. He was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Nowshera Babu Ram Tandon.

The visit of the District Election Officer covered several polling stations. Among the notable highlights of the visit was the inspection of the pink polling station at Nowshera where the staff was exclusively women. The DEO carefully reviewed the preparations made so far and gave instructions to the election staff to ensure smooth, free and fair conduct of elections across the district.
