Raigarh, 14 November (Hindustan Reporter). Paddy procurement is going to start from 14th November. On the one hand, all preparations have been completed in the procurement centers regarding paddy procurement. At the same time, monitoring team has also become active to stop the arrival of illegal paddy. Collector Karthikeya Goyal has given instructions for strict monitoring regarding this. In the same sequence, a major action was taken against illegal paddy storage on Thursday and a total of 407 bags of paddy were seized in three cases. In Chhichhor Umaria, the investigation team found 127 bags of paddy stored illegally at the house of Janmajya Gupta.
Food officer Khumeshwar Singh said that information was received about storage of paddy at the house of the said person. After which, under the guidance of SDM Praveen Tiwari, a joint team of Revenue, Food and Market Department reached the spot for investigation. When the person was asked regarding the paddy stored there, no satisfactory answer was given. The investigation team seized 127 bags of illegally stored paddy under market rules. Similarly, in Jhagarpur of Lailunga block, 180 sacks of paddy were found stored illegally at Mukesh Kumar Agarwal’s house and 100 sacks at Surendra Kumar Agarwal’s house were seized by the Joint Investigation Team under the market rules. It is noteworthy that during the paddy procurement starting from 14th November today, check posts have been made at 14 places in the border areas to stop the arrival of illegal paddy. Where surveillance teams will be deployed for 24-hour monitoring.
