Lucknow, 12 April (HS). Delhi Capitals, the franchise co-owned by JSW and GMR, is set to take on Lucknow Super Giants in their sixth match of IPL 2024 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow this evening.
Delhi Capitals has won one out of five matches so far. On the team's performance, Delhi head coach Ricky Ponting said, “Our best cricket has been really good, but three or four overs have been the difference for us in almost every match. We gave away a lot of runs in the last overs late and when we faced important run chases, we were not able to complete them.”
“We feel that if we put together 40 overs of our best cricket, we can beat any team in the competition and hopefully win,” he said at a press conference on Thursday on the eve of the match against Lucknow Super Giants. That it will happen in the match against Lucknow.”
Giving an update on the fitness of Kuldeep Yadav and Mukesh Kumar, Ponting said, “We are hopeful that both of them will be available. “We are able to run with our full strength squad but they have both trained strongly so hopefully we will get going and hopefully they will both be fit for us.”
Regarding preparations for the next match, Ponting said, “We know that we have to start playing our best cricket soon. Our overall approach to the game has not changed. We know what we need to focus on. We are 100% prepared and will make sure in the end that we have no regrets at the end of the match.”
