Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 : After pushing BJP on the backfoot in the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra, now the party is facing difficulties in the assembly elections as well. For the last several days, the statements of NCP chief Ajit Pawar and his reports have been in the headlines in the state. According to reports, Ajit has tried to increase pressure on BJP by demanding more seats in the Maharashtra assembly elections.
Ajit Pawar wants more seats in the assembly elections
Ajit Pawar's party NCP has won just one seat in the Lok Sabha elections, but they are trying to increase pressure on BJP by demanding maximum seats in the assembly. As far as the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance is concerned, while on the one hand Shiv Sena and NCP are demanding maximum seats, on the other hand BJP wants to retain most of the 288 assembly seats in the state.
Along with NCP, Shiv Sena has also increased the tension of BJP
The biggest concern for BJP now is the Maharashtra assembly elections, because there are a total of 288 seats in the state and Ajit's NCP is claiming 80 to 90 assembly seats. At the same time, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's party Shiv Sena (Shiv Sena) is also expecting 100 seats. While BJP itself wants to contest on 170-180 seats.
Ajit Pawar met Amit Shah
A few days ago, Ajit Pawar also met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi to get more seats. Apart from this, BJP leader and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also visited Ajit Pawar's house and met him. However, Ajit has adopted a tough stand towards BJP, due to which it seems very difficult for BJP to fulfill Ajit Pawar's demand. After meeting Amit Shah, Ajit said that the issue of seat sharing should not be kept hanging like the Lok Sabha elections. A decision should be taken in this regard as soon as possible.
