Gorakhpur, 23 September. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has once again targeted the Samajwadi Party (SP) regarding women’s safety. He said that before 2017, the situation in the state was such that a saying had started going around, ‘Dekh Sapai, Bitiya Ghabarai.’ Parents were worried about their daughters’ education and safety. The goons of the then government had spoiled the atmosphere. Girls’ education was in trouble in many districts. SP’s men used to harass him and forcibly take him away. The Chief Minister said that there was an atmosphere of hooliganism, land grabbing and anarchy in the entire state. Whereas today Uttar Pradesh is free from curfew, riots, fear, hooliganism and illegal occupation. After 2017, when society and government worked in one direction, results have emerged.
CM Yogi was addressing the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed building of the Government Women’s Shelter near the seed warehouse of the Agriculture Department in Chargaon on Wednesday. The construction of this building with all the necessary facilities with a capacity of 100 women has cost Rs 8 crore 5 lakh 42 thousand. At the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Minister said that any daughter forced to leave her home or a victim of domestic violence will no longer have to stumble from door to door. The 100-bed Government Women’s Shelter in Gorakhpur will become a support for such women. The government is continuously working to fulfill the concept of developed India by giving respect and security to half the population and moving them forward on the path of self-reliance.
The Chief Minister said that the government stands with the daughter from her birth till her education, marriage, security and self-reliance. Under the Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana, assistance of Rs 25 thousand is being given to the girl child from birth to graduation. A provision of Rs 1 lakh has been made in the Chief Minister Mass Marriage Scheme. In the schools of Basic Education Council, 1.60 crore children are being provided the facility of uniform, bags, books, shoes, socks and sweaters. He said that 1.10 crore families have been given pension of Rs 12 thousand annually and 65 lakh poor people in the state have been given houses under the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Housing Scheme. He said that choosing good people provides good facilities. The government is providing assistance of Rs 4,000 per month to the destitute children during the Corona period. Laptops have also been provided to such children to help them in studies.
Taking aim at the opposition, especially SP, regarding employment, CM Yogi said, ‘You keep counting, we will keep distributing jobs. You will get tired of counting, we will not get tired of giving jobs to the youth of UP. The Chief Minister said that till now more than nine and a half lakh youth have been given government jobs under the Employment Mission. New employment opportunities are being created in different sectors. More than three crore people have got employment through 96 lakh MSME units in the state. A large number of these units are being run by women. With more than 24 thousand startups, the youth of Uttar Pradesh are now not only becoming job takers but also job providers.
Women are writing a new story of self-reliance
CM Yogi said that women are writing a new story of self-reliance in the form of Lakhpati Didi, Drone Didi and Banking Correspondent Sakhi. Through the Nari Vandan Act, the way for women’s representation in the Lok Sabha and the Legislative Assembly has also been ensured.
Death toll due to encephalitis reaches zero
Chief Minister Yogi said that before 2017, encephalitis used to swallow children in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Around 500 children used to die in BRD Medical College alone. Due to the efforts of the government, today the death toll has reached zero. He also mentioned the unprecedented change in road, rail and air connectivity in Gorakhpur. Said that due to better road connectivity, the journey to Varanasi is now being completed in about two and a half hours.
Shelter will become a support for destitute women
CM Yogi said that whether it is a woman who is a victim of domestic violence or a daughter, sister or an elderly woman who is separated from her family due to some reason, this shelter will become their support. Referring to an elderly woman living in a shelter, he said that she was unable to speak and her home address was not known. The government supports such people and tries to reunite them with their legal guardians. The Chief Minister expected the Women’s Welfare Department to run the shelter better. On this occasion, while wishing Vaman Jayanti, the Chief Minister mentioned the Vaman incarnation of Lord Shri Vishnu and congratulated the people present.
Ravi Kishan said – Government stands with sisters and daughters
MP Ravi Kishan Shukla said that where will a destitute daughter or sister go in the cold and how will she get shelter, with this in mind, Chief Minister Yogi has built this shelter at a cost of more than Rs 8 crore. He said that after 2017, Uttar Pradesh has taken a new turn. The rule of law has curbed mafia and hooliganism. Earlier there used to be incidents of land grab and extortion of poor, whereas today the government stands with the poor and women. He also mentioned the government’s work regarding employment and public welfare schemes.

Welcoming Chief Minister Yogi in the program, Pipraich MLA Mahendrapal Singh said that the government has taken public welfare schemes to the eligible people. Encephalitis used to kill a large number of children in eastern Uttar Pradesh, but due to the efforts of the government, it has been effectively controlled. The government is working with the resolve to provide employment to the youth and security to the daughters. CM gave laptops to the beneficiaries of Bal Seva Yojana
In the program, laptops were provided to Akshita Gupta, Palak Chauhan, Deepika, Priyanshi Yadav, Umra Anjum, Ayushi Yadav, Sudhir Kumar, Priyanshu Yadav, Anish Kumar Singh and Rudra Pratap Ranjan under the Chief Minister Child Service (Covid) Scheme run by the Women and Child Development Department. CM Yogi distributed laptops to these beneficiaries with his own hands.

Chief Minister inaugurated and inspected the shelter building
After cutting the ribbon and inaugurating the Government Women’s Shelter building constructed by the Women’s Welfare Department, the Chief Minister visited the building and inquired about the arrangements there. The CM also met the women living here and inquired about the facilities available to them. The Chief Minister also inspected the board displaying various schemes. During this, he directed the officials that there should be such arrangements so that the women living here do not face any kind of problem. CM Yogi gave the message of environmental protection by planting saplings in the premises of the shelter.
CM also inspected the under construction Government Observation Home (Kishore)
Before inaugurating the Government Women’s Shelter, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inspected the observation home under construction for juveniles. Government Communication Home with a capacity of 100 teenagers is being constructed at a cost of Rs 14 crore 87 lakh.
