Be sure to check your booth before voting: Rahul Kumar Sinha

Ranchi, 07 April (HS). Under the SVEEP, a voting awareness workshop was organized on Sunday at Aryabhatta Auditorium in Morhabadi, Ranchi for voter awareness. During the workshop, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha gave many election related information to the people present.

He said that voting will be held in Ranchi Lok Sabha constituency on May 25. Before voting, voter slips will be distributed door-to-door by the concerned BLO. He said that just as we go to the examination center a day before the exam, in the same way, after getting the voter list, we should definitely visit our booth before voting for our convenience.

Referring to the low turnout in urban areas, he said that in rural areas, a good number of voters reach the booths even in difficult geographical conditions, but in urban areas, despite the facilities and information, less people come out of their homes on the voting day. He asked the RWA members to come to the polling station with their families and nearby people on polling day.

During the workshop on the spot, Municipal Corporation Administrator Amit Kumar also gave necessary information related to voter awareness. He said that every vote is valuable in democracy, people reached the booth in good numbers on voting day. Make everyone aware about this. He told that for voting it is necessary to have name in the voter list. Eligible citizens in Ranchi Lok Sabha constituency can register their names in the voter list till 25th April. For this, application can be given online and offline. Amit Kumar said that BLO, BLO supervisor along with Safai Mitras and supervisors are reaching door to door, the left out citizens should get their names registered in the voter list. Don't think that voting is a holiday, do vote, there should not be tall buildings and small thinking.

During the workshop, election related questions were also asked to the people present on behalf of the senior officials, gifts were also given to those who answered correctly. At the end of the program, voting oath was also administered to all the people present. Besides, a voter guide was also made available to everyone for information about voting and election process.
