According to the official release issued by BCCI, the candidate selected for this extremely important post will have to provide a strategic and operational leadership for the Sports Science and Medical services under the Elite Cricket and Center of Excellence (CoE) programs of the Board. This will directly involve the Head of Physiotherapy (CoE), Head of Physiotherapy, Head Strength and Conditioning (S&C) of the Indian men’s and women’s senior teams and the line management of the S&C staff of Team India. Additionally, the new executive will be required to work closely with national and CoE coaches, the cricket education department and other performance specialists to create an integrated and modern support program for Indian cricketers. The main focus of this entire process will be the health welfare of the Indian players, injury prevention, timely rehabilitation, their advanced physical development, research, innovation in the field of sports science and immediate adoption of modern technologies and services into the Indian cricket structure, so that our players do not lag behind any team at the global level in terms of fitness.

It is mandatory for the candidate to have a Masters (Post Graduate) degree in Sports Science or any relevant subject, however if an applicant has a Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree, he/she will be given special preference in the selection process.

Applicants must have at least five years of long-standing and solid experience in strategic leadership or leadership roles in successfully managing cross-functional performance teams.

Extensive experience in developing strategic plans, implementing them on the ground, and providing sports science or medicine support to high-performance teams in professional or Olympic level sports is required.

Candidates must have a current professional accreditation or valid license in the field of sports science or medicine.

Must have practical experience in performance-focused research and a deep understanding of the long-term physical and mental development of athletes.
