Lok Sabha Elections 2024: In the last phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024, elections will be held on a total of 13 seats including Varanasi and Gorakhpur. Out of the 65 assembly constituencies falling in the 13 Lok Sabha constituencies of the last phase, BJP and its allies have 52 seats. Only 12 seats came in the account of SP and Congress. SP and Congress have only 12 seats each, while BSP has only 12 seats in the entire state, Rasra of Ballia. BJP occupies all the five assembly seats of Gorakhpur, Deoria, Bansgaon and Robertsganj Lok Sabha constituency. In the last phase of Lok Sabha elections, not only the country but the world is eyeing the two high-profile seats Varanasi and Gorakhpur.

Voting for 13 seats of Purvanchal on June 1

Voting will be held on 1 June for 13 seats in Purvanchal. At this time, the eyes of the country and the world are fixed because Prime Minister Narendra Modi has entered the fray to score a hattrick from Varanasi. Congress candidate Ajay Rai is trying his luck for the fourth consecutive time from Varanasi seat. Out of the five assembly seats, four are occupied by BJP and one by Apna Dal. Elections are also being held in Gorakhpur in this phase. Goraksha Peeth has occupied this seat since 1989.

Yogi Adityanath became MP for five consecutive times

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself has been an MP for five consecutive terms from 1998 to 2014. In the 2018 by-election, the SP snatched this seat from the BJP. This election was held on the seat vacated by Yogi Adityanath's resignation after he became the Chief Minister. Praveen Nishad became an MP from here for the first time. However, in the 2019 elections, he joined the BJP and became an MP from Sant Kabir Nagar. Here Ravindra Shukla alias Ravi Kishan is contesting for the second consecutive time from BJP. His opponent will be SP Kajal Nishad.

Lotus has bloomed on all five assembly seats of this Lok Sabha constituency. In Maharajganj too, BJP candidate Pankaj Chaudhary has come out to score a hat-trick. Congress has given ticket to Farenda MLA Virendra Chaudhary here. BJP has three seats in the assembly seats here, Congress and Nishad Party have one seat each. BJP candidate Vijay Kumar Dubey from Kushinagar and Ajay Pratap Singh from SP are in the fray.

Rashtriya Shoshit Samaj Party candidate and former minister Swami Prasad Maurya is also trying his luck here. BJP holds four seats and Nishad Party holds one seat. BJP's Shashank Mani Tripathi is in the fray in Deoria while this seat is also with the Congress in the alliance. Akhilesh Pratap Singh is contesting from here. This seat was also in the possession of BJP in the year 2014 and 2019. This seat is also strong for the lotus because BJP holds all the five assembly seats here.

This time the fight on the Bansgaon Lok Sabha seat is interesting. Here BJP's Kamlesh Paswan is in the fray for the fourth time after winning three times in a row. Congress has given ticket to Sadal Prasad. Sadal Prasad also contested the 2019 election from BSP and SP alliance. This seat is also strong for BJP. Here too all five MLAs are from BJP. BJP has given the Ghosi seat to alliance partner Subhaspa. Arvind Rajbhar, son of Subhaspa president Om Prakash Rajbhar is contesting from here.

SP has fielded Rajiv Rai. BSP won in 2019. BSP has fielded Balkrishna Chauhan. Out of five assembly seats, SP has two, BJP, Subhas SP and BSP have one seat each. BJP's Ravindra Kushwaha has entered the fray to score a hat-trick for the third time from Salempur seat. SP has given ticket to Ramashankar Rajbhar here. Out of five assembly seats, BJP has three, SP and Subhaspa have one seat each. Former Prime Minister Chandrashekhar's son Neeraj Shekhar is in the fray from Ballia seat, while SP has expressed confidence in Sanatan Pandey. SP has three out of five seats.

BJP and Subhaspa have one seat each. This time the election of Ghazipur seat is also important. Mukhtar Ansari's brother Afzal Ansari is contesting on SP ticket. Last time he became MP from BSP. This time BJP has given ticket to Parasnath Rai and BSP has given ticket to Umesh Singh. Here SP has MLA on four seats and Subhaspa has MLA on one seat. Union Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey has come to score a hat-trick from Chandauli. SP has fielded Virendra Singh. Out of five seats, four are occupied by BJP and one by SP. BJP has given Mirzapur and Robertsganj Lok Sabha seats to its ally Apna Dal (S). Anupriya Patel is also in the fray to score a hat-trick from Mirzapur.

SP has given ticket to BJP's Bhadohi MP Ramesh Bind. Out of the five assembly seats here, BJP has three, Apna Dal and Nishad Party have one seat each. His party has given ticket to Chanbe MLA Rinki Kol on Robertsganj seat. SP has made former BJP MP Chhotelal Kharwar its candidate. In 2014, Kharwar won the election from Robertsganj on BJP ticket. BJP is in control of all the five assembly seats here.
