Batohi Adi Image Festival organized in collaboration with Sangeet Natak Academy | News India

Saharsa, 6 September (HS). 'Adi Vimb Mahotsav' organized by Batohi, Saharsa in collaboration with Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi was held in the open air courtyard of Mankhahi on 5 and 6 September. The festival was inaugurated by India's former diplomat in Fiji and art scholar Prof Om Prakash Bharti.

In his inaugural address, Prof Bharti said that in today's context, preservation of folk and tribal art is very important. Tribal art is based on human values ​​and the concept of nature conservation. India will become Vishwa Guru (world leader) only according to the tribal era. In the two-day festival, tribal artists from Purnia, Saharsa, Katihar, Madhepura, Supaul, Araria and Kishanganj performed dances and songs.

Dong and Baha dances were presented under the leadership of Suman Tudu from Shanhapur and Santhali Tola, Madhepura. Tribal artists from Saroni Damdah Purnia presented Langrai dance and song under the leadership of Vinod Vesra. Tribal artists from Araria district presented Oraon dance and songs under the leadership of Bechan Oraon.

Batohi's secretary Dr. Mahendra Kumar said that Batohi has been organizing tribal art and 'Adi Vimb Mahotsav' for the last five years. Many thanks to the Central 'Sangit Natak Academy' New Delhi who supported this festival. On this occasion, former Mukhiya Naresh Yadav and social worker Mukesh Kumar, Ramji Mandal, Manoj Kumar, Puru Yadav, Deepak Kumar, Avinash and other dignitaries were present.
