Under the Bastar Olympics 2024, a two-day Bastar district level competition is being organized at Indira Priyadarshini Stadium in Jagdalpur, Sports Complex Dharampura and Pandaripani (hockey ground). The district level competition was inaugurated on Thursday at Indira Priyadarshini Stadium under the chief hospitality of Chitrakot MLA Vinayak Goyal. MLA Goyal announced the inauguration of the sports competition by hoisting the flag. A spectacular march past was performed by players from all seven development blocks in the programme. The anthem-theme song of Bastar Olympics was launched. National player Vedavati Kashyap administered the oath to the players for sportsmanship and guests distributed sports kits to the players of all seven blocks. During this, students of two schools also gave cultural presentations.

Bastar Olympics is being organized in all the seven districts to ensure that the players enjoy the game with spirit and to ensure participation of the youth of the region for peace, security and development. CEO District Panchayat and Collector in-charge Pratistha Mamgai said in the welcome address that registration for Bastar Olympics was started from October 1 in which about 37 thousand people had registered, out of which about 26 thousand (71 percent) people participated in the block level competition. . District level competition is being organized in three stadiums. In which about 1900 boys and girls from all seven development blocks of the district are participating. Cash prizes will be given to the winners of individual sports activities and group sports in the competition.
