Prayagraj, 10 September (HS). Allahabad High Court has accepted the bail plea of Sandesh, an employee of Rajiv Rana's demolished hotel in Bareilly gang war.

This order has been given by Justice Shriprakash Singh on the bail plea of Sandesh. On the morning of 22 June, in Izzatnagar police station area of Bareilly, a real gang war took place in filmy style at Bajrang Dhaba over the possession of a plot. This gang war took place between the Rajiv Rana group, an associate of former BJP MLA Rajesh Mishra alias Pappu Bharatoul, and the marble businessman Aditya Upadhyay group on the other side. After hours of continuous firing in front of the police, the police had registered a case against four people of Rajiv Rana group by name and 20-25 associates and many unknown people including Aditya Upadhyay, Abhiraj and their watchman from the other side. Aditya Upadhyay's servant Rohit Sharma had lodged an FIR against 11 people including former BJP MLA Rajesh Mishra alias Pappu Bharatoul, his associate Rajiv Rana, and about 150 unknown people.

The counsel for the petitioner argued that the accused Sandesh is a waiter at Rajiv Rana's hotel. The police picked him up from the hotel and showed his arrest from Pilibhit Road with a fake recovery of a knife. The arrest warrant was signed in the court premises. The petitioner is not named in the FIR and neither has his role been mentioned.

Police investigation claimed that CCTV footage showed that a gang war was planned in builder Rajiv Rana's City Star Hotel. Under this, on the morning of 22 June, stones kept on the disputed plot were demolished using a JCB. The building was demolished and the BDA boundary wall was also broken. During this, about 100 rounds of firing were done from both sides.
