Madrid, May 17 (HS). Thanks to two goals from midfielder Fermin Lopez, FC Barcelona defeated Almeria 2-0 on Thursday and strengthened its position in second place in the La Liga table.
Barcelona also took advantage of Verona's home defeat to Villarreal on Tuesday to move four points clear of third-placed Verona with two matches remaining. Barcelona now have 79 points and Verona 75 points.
