Madrid, November 4 (HS). FC Barcelona has opened up a nine-point lead at the top of the La Liga table after beating Espanyol 3-1 at home on Sunday. Dani Olmo scored two goals and Raphinha scored one goal for Barcelona and they took control of the match after just half an hour.
Olmo put Barca ahead by scoring a goal in the 12th minute of the match. Raphinha doubled Barca's lead by scoring a goal after 10 minutes.
Olmo then scored the third goal after half an hour and increased Barcelona's lead to 3-0. Xavi Puado scored a consolation goal for Espanyol in the 63rd minute.
In other matches, Atlético Madrid beat Las Palmas 2–0 at home, Athletic Club and Betis drew 1–1 and Real Sociedad beat Sevilla 2–0.
