The arrested couple are private bank employees and used to cheat people by luring them for renewal of closed insurance policies. The police recovered Rs 1 lakh six thousand in cash from them and also seized Rs 11 lakh 34 thousand in their bank account. 12 fake stamps and fake documents of Insurance Ombudsman Council have also been recovered from both of them.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime, Ashish Srivastava, while addressing a press conference, said that the accused had targeted Mohammad Ismail Syed, a shoe businessman in Banthar, and cheated him of Rs 41 lakh, against which a case was registered in the cyber police station. During the investigation of this case, both the accused couple were arrested. However, both the vicious accused used their Creta car to commit the crime. Due to change in his location, the police had to struggle a lot to catch him. During interrogation of the accused, it was revealed that they used to buy data of both such people through private directory sites. Whose insurance had stopped due to some reason or was pending for renewal.

During interrogation of the accused, it was revealed that the couple had victimized two businessmen from Rajasthan and a shoe businessman from Kanpur. Jewelery worth Rs 5 lakh 35 thousand, Rs 1 lakh 6 thousand in cash, 2 iPhones, 4 Android phones, 2 keypad phones, 12 fake stamps, 2 fake ID cards, 1 ATM card, 1 swipe machine, a Creta car were recovered from the accused. UP16DV7635 has been recovered. Besides this, Rs 11 lakh 34 thousand have also been seized in the bank account. Both the accused, 28-year-old Pawan Kumar and 28-year-old Renu, have been arrested from Noida.
