New Delhi, 2 November (HS). Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Friday announced its squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Afghanistan. All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has not been included in the team.
It is noteworthy that Shakib could not even play in his farewell test match played against South Africa in Mirpur. Earlier, BCB chief Farooq Ahmed informed everyone about this.
Farooq said in a press conference, “Shakib could not come to play his farewell test, after which he did not practice much. I think he needs some time to regroup.”
Opener Nazmul Hossain Shanto will lead the team and all-rounder Mehdi Hasan will be his deputy on the Miraj tour. The national team has recalled left-handed batsman Zakir Hasan and left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed for this series.
Afghanistan is set to host Bangladesh for a three-match ODI series at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates in November.
The first ODI between the two teams will be played on 06 November, the second on 09 November and the third on 11 November, 2024.
