Shakib Al Hasan: Bangladesh cricket team's veteran player and all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has announced his retirement from Test cricket. Which will not be implemented immediately. However, he has announced his retirement from T20 international cricket with immediate effect. Shakib will play the second Test against India in Kanpur from September 27. After this he will play another Test cricket series and then say goodbye to red ball cricket.

The upcoming Test series against South Africa in Bangladesh will be his last series in this format. Shakib made this announcement while addressing the media in Kanpur before the second Test match against India. Meanwhile, he informed about his retirement. The South African team is going to Bangladesh for a two-match Test series in October.

The test match against India could be Shakib's last test match

Shakib said, “I have expressed my desire to retire from Test cricket to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) after the series against South Africa in Mirpur next month. However, Shakib's playing in the series depends on whether he gets security clearance or not. If Shakib is unable to play in this Test, then the second Test against India starting on September 27 may be his last Test.

Retired from T20 international cricket

Shakib has retired from T20 international cricket with immediate effect. Therefore, he will not be available for team selection for the upcoming T20 series after the second Test match against India. The Bangladesh team for the T20 series has not been announced yet. Shakib can be seen playing ODI cricket by February-March next year. Because next year the ICC Champions Trophy is to be held in Pakistan, in which he can play.
