Bangladesh Violence: Sheikh Hasina, who has been running the government in Bangladesh for the last 15 years, resigned from the post of PM on Monday and came to India by helicopter. Currently, she is in India and can go to Britain from here. After getting political asylum from Britain, she wants to go to London. In this way, she has somehow escaped from the violence that erupted in Bangladesh and has come to India. Meanwhile, in Bangladesh, the houses of the leaders of her party Awami League are being continuously attacked. The situation has worsened so much that these leaders are struggling to save their lives.
High alert on India-Bangladesh border
Now these leaders are also appealing for asylum in India. India has put India on high alert and deployed additional troops along the 4,096 kilometer long border. Meanwhile, many senior leaders of Awami League, former Union Ministers and others have appealed to India to allow us to enter the border by land. The situation is so serious that the house of Sheikh Hasina's party MP and former cricketer Musharraf Murtaza has been burnt by protesters. Apart from this, a mayor's house was also set on fire in which three people were burnt alive inside. This has created an atmosphere of fear among the leaders involved in Sheikh Hasina's government. These leaders are now seeking asylum in India.
Bangladeshi leaders want to take refuge in India without visa
The problem is that many of these leaders do not even have visas and passports through which they can come to Delhi. India has good relations with the leaders of Awami League. India also helped during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. That movement was led by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who has been given the title of Bangabandhu. The problem for Bangladeshi leaders is that Dhaka airport is closed and regular flights are also closed. In such a situation, the only option these people have is to enter India through the border of Tripura and Bengal.
Former Home Minister's house set on fire, General Secretary goes missing
It has been a long history in Bangladesh that the leaders who were in power earlier were murdered after the coup. In such a situation, after Sheikh Hasina left the country, other leaders also want to get safe shelter somewhere. The house of Asaduzzaman Kamal, who was the Home Minister in Sheikh Hasina's government, was vandalized. Apart from this, Awami League General Secretary Abdul Kader is missing. There is no information about him since Sunday. At present, Awami League leaders are not even able to talk to each other and are trying to save their lives somehow.
