Ranchi, May 13 (HS). The hearing of Daniel Danish's PIL on Monday was held in the Jharkhand High Court on the adverse impact of Bangladeshi infiltrators on the population situation in Santhal Pargana. In this case, the Central Government told the court that under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), identification and action against Bangladeshi infiltrators in Santhal Pargana is not possible. Those seeking citizenship through CAA will be denied Indian citizenship after investigation. There is no CAA to identify Bangladeshi infiltrators and take action against them.
On behalf of the state government, the court was told that a proposal is being prepared, in which Bangladeshi infiltrators will be identified with the help of the central government. On this, the court told the Central Government advocate that the matter of identifying Bangladeshi infiltrators is a serious matter. Therefore, take instructions from the Central Government and file a reply on this. The court has scheduled the next hearing of the case for the month of June.
In the last hearing, the court had asked the Central Government whether under the CAA, the Central Government can take direct action against Bangladeshi infiltrators in the five districts of Santhal Pargana or not? The court was told that the central government can take action against Bangladeshi infiltrators in five districts of Santhal Pargana of Jharkhand. The state government does not have much role in this but now the situation has changed after the implementation of CAA by the Central Government. Some minorities from the neighboring country will be given citizenship.
The court was also told that the number of illegal immigrants (Bangladeshi infiltrators) is increasing in areas like Sahibganj, Pakur, Dumka, Godda and Jamtara etc. These people are greatly affecting the tribal population. Therefore, there is a need to curb Bangladeshis settled in Jharkhand.
The petitioner has said in the petition that Bangladeshi infiltrators are coming to Jharkhand from the border areas of Jharkhand like Jamtara, Pakur, Godda, Sahibganj etc. This is having an adverse effect on the population in these districts. A large number of madrassas are being established in these districts. Also, marital relations are being made with the local tribals.
