Dhaka, September 18 (HS). The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced its 15-member squad led by wicketkeeper-batsman Nigar Sultana Joti for the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup. The Women's T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 3 to 20 October.

Bangladesh's squad for the upcoming global event features a few changes from the one fielded for the Women's Asia Cup in July. Leg-spinner Fahima Khatun and batter Sobhana Mostari return to the squad, while uncapped top-order batter Taj Nehar, opener Shanti Rani and all-rounder Disha Biswas have also been included in the 15-member squad.

All-rounder Rumana Ahmed, left-handed batsman Rubia Haider Zhelik, all-rounder Shorifa Khatun, opener Ishma Tanzim and left-arm spinner Sabikun Nahar Jasmin have not been included in the Bangladesh squad. Some Bangladesh players including Nigar, Fahima, Rabeya Khan, Shorna Akhter, Dilara Akhter, Jahanara Alam and Marufa Akhter are in Sri Lanka as part of the 'A' team tour.

The 2024 Women's T20 World Cup was moved from Bangladesh to the UAE by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on August 20 due to political instability and security concerns in the Asian country.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals in Dubai and Sharjah on October 17 and 18 respectively, followed by the final at the Dubai International Stadium on October 20. A reserve day has been allotted for both the semi-finals and the final.
