Bangladesh Prime Minister Tariq Rahman may visit New Delhi on his first official visit to India this month i.e. in the last week of August. According to information received from diplomatic sources, the probable dates of this high-profile visit are being decided between 20 to 25 August. Top diplomatic officials of both India and Bangladesh are busy finalizing the agenda and exact scheduling of this visit, which can give a new direction to bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries.
Process of finalizing dates continues at diplomatic level
According to reputable media reports, there has been a strong desire to hold high-level bilateral talks between the two countries for some time now, but due to some commitments and technical problems of scheduling, this visit has been postponed. Now, after seriously considering various options, the top officials of both the countries have come very close to agreeing on the time period between 20th to 25th August. At present, these two major programs between Dhaka and New Delhi on August 20-21 and August 21-22 are mainly being considered, although the final approval is yet to be given by the Ministry of External Affairs.
