Bangladesh police reached Bengal to investigate Anaar murder case, will get blood sample tested

Kolkata, May 28 (HS). Bangladesh police has reached Kolkata to investigate the murder of Bangladesh MP Anwarul Azim Anar. The police will conduct DNA tests of the blood sample found in a flat in New Town area here and will match it with the blood sample of someone who is Anar's blood relative to confirm that the politician has been murdered.

Giving this information on Tuesday, a CID source said that it is suspected that Anar, who was missing for a fortnight, was murdered in the same flat and the body parts were thrown into the canal. A Dhaka police officer who came to Kolkata in connection with the investigation said that if the body parts of the Awami League MP are not found, then DNA testing will be done as the last option.

He said that if the body parts are not found, we will conduct DNA testing of the blood samples and match it with the DNA of one of Anar's family members to establish the identity. The investigation in the case will proceed accordingly.

A three-member team of the Dhaka police is in Kolkata city to investigate Anar's death. Another official said the Kolkata police disaster management team on Tuesday resumed the search for body parts in the Baghjola canal adjacent to an amusement park near Rajarhat.

Kolkata police sources said that it would be a tough job to find the body parts as there is heavy rain right now after cyclone Remal. A police officer said that it has been more than a fortnight since the crime was committed. The body parts were cut into small pieces and there is a high possibility that they might have been eaten by aquatic creatures. Despite this, an investigation will be conducted.
