The current situation in Bangladesh is very serious. After the coup, Bangladesh's industries have been affected. Business is almost at a standstill. Bangladesh's textile industry is one of the biggest industries in the world. The clothes made here are exported to many countries of the world including India. However, now seeing the current situation in Bangladesh, textile buyers from all over the world may turn their eyes towards India. If this happens, then good days will come for India's textile industry. This will not only increase business but will also increase employment. Bangladesh has so much textile industry out of which 25 percent is owned by Indians.
After the crisis in Bangladesh, the textile industry there may shift to cities like Tirupur in Tamil Nadu. Let us tell you here that Tirupur has many textile industries of the country. Lakhs of people work here. According to experts, if 10 to 11 percent of the clothes exported from Bangladesh go to cities like Tirupur, then India's textile business will increase by 300 to 400 million dollars (about 2515 to 3354 crores rupees) every month. Experts also believe that after the Bangladesh crisis, the textile industry of Tirupur may start getting more orders than before.
From Europe to the UK
Bangladesh's clothing business is spread all over the world. According to statistics, Bangladesh exports 3.5 to 3.8 billion dollars every month. This includes the European Union and Britain. 10 percent of the total market is exported to the US. If we talk about India, then the export is very less compared to Bangladesh. Which is only between 1.3 to 1.5 billion dollars.
Will India get the order?
According to sources, due to the Bangladesh crisis, traders from all over the world may increase the number of their orders in India. Experts say that India can increase its export potential. On the other hand, Indians who have manufacturing units in Bangladesh may relocate to India. If this happens, it will be beneficial for India. The textile industry will expand and employment opportunities will also increase.
Exports from Gujarat
Talking about Gujarat, cotton, yarn, man-made fiber from Gujarat are exported to Bangladesh via West Bengal. Every month, about Rs 200 crore worth of exports take place from Surat. According to reports, more than 3000 textile mills are closed in Bangladesh at this time. Bangladesh can be called a competitor of India in this sector. Due to cheap labor, orders were going there from western countries including America, Europe. Textile experts believe that Gujarat will not benefit much from this crisis. Exports from India to Bangladesh are high and imports are low. A small amount of readymade clothes are imported to South India while a small amount of goods go from Gujarat. If the crisis lasts longer, the textile sector will benefit. Some industrialists of the state say that if this political crisis lasts for 6 months or more, then there is a possibility that India will get orders going to Bangladesh.
