Bangladesh violence: After the overthrow of Sheikh Hasina’s government in Bangladesh, there have been 88 incidents of attacks on minorities in Bangladesh. Most of these incidents are related to Hindu minorities. According to the information received, Shafikul Alam, press secretary of interim government chief Mohammad Yunus, has given this information. In this way, Bangladesh itself has admitted that there have been 88 incidents of attacks on Hindus. He said that 70 people have been arrested in connection with these incidents. Meanwhile, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has threatened Bangladesh regarding Rafale fighter aircraft.
Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri held a meeting with Bangladeshi officials. He expressed concern over the incidents of attacks on minorities. Now, a day after this meeting, Bangladesh has given information about the number of such attacks.
88 cases related to minorities were reported between August 5 and October 22.
Shafikul Alam said that between August 5 and October 22, 88 cases related to minorities have been registered. The number of arrests is expected to increase due to fresh reports of violence in North-East Sunamganj, Central Ghazipur and other areas. Some of the victims of this incident may have been members of the former ruling party (Bangladesh Awami League). However, the Bangladesh government stated that except in a few incidents, Hindus were not targeted because of their faith.
Police is taking necessary action
He said some attacks were carried out targeting leaders associated with the previous government or due to personal disputes. However, due to violence the police is taking necessary action. Alam also indicated that information about the incidents after October 22 can also be given soon.
BJP leader’s ‘airstrike’ threat
Meanwhile, BJP leader and leader of opposition in West Bengal Suvendu Adhikari targeted Bangladesh during the protest. He said that the situation is worsening in the neighboring country. Bangladesh is dependent on India, India is not dependent on Bangladesh. Suvendu said that if India does not send 97 products, Bangladesh will not get rice and clothes.
He further said that if India does not send the electricity produced from Jharkhand, then 80 percent of the villages there will not get electricity. He has also threatened to send Rafale fighter aircraft. He said that 40 Rafale aircraft are deployed in Hasimara. Only sending two planes will suffice.
