Hisar, 14 November (Hissar). At the daughter’s wedding in village Shekhpura of Hansi sub-division, a message of equality between sons and daughters was given by taking out a banwara on a mare. On this occasion, the women of the family sang auspicious songs and danced and took out Banwara in the village. Dr. Sushil Kumar Sangwan, the uncle of the married woman on the mare, inspired his brother-in-law’s daughter to perform the Banvara on the mare and called the mare and the drummer from the market and performed the Banvara by singing and dancing with the family members.

According to the information received, Shweta Sindhu, daughter of late Ashok Sindhu, resident of village Sheikhpura, is getting married on 15th November. Earlier, Shweta Sindhu’s uncle reached Sheikhpura and made the marriage of late brother-in-law Ashok Sindhu’s daughter a memorable one by carrying out Banvara on a mare in the marriage of her daughter. The women of this family participated in Banavare by singing and dancing to the beat of the drum. The villagers praised the daughter’s procession on a mare at her wedding and said that in today’s time, daughters are not behind sons in any field, but daughters are capable of doing the work which sons are not able to do, hence the old conservative traditions. Providing equal rights to daughters also is a commendable task.

On this occasion, married Shweta said that her family has a different ideology and from the beginning the family has raised her like a boy and provided her with every kind of freedom including studies. Shweta said that for the first time in the village, she is very happy to be taken out on a mare in a girl’s wedding and my uncle Dr. Sushil Kumar Sangwan has done what has not happened to us till date. Shweta said that although her father has passed away, her uncle Dr. Sushil Sangwan and uncle Satbir Sinthu made up for the absence of their father and made her marriage historic. Let us tell you that Shweta is a post graduate and her wedding procession will come from Dadri to village Shekhpura on 15th November.
