Banarasi girl Pooja Yadav won gold medal in All India Police Wrestling Competition | News India


Varanasi, September 13 (HS). In the 73rd All India Police Wrestling Competition, Varanasi's female wrestler Pooja Yadav has increased the prestige of the district by winning the gold medal in the 62 kg weight category.

Two women wrestlers from Banaras participated in the wrestling competition organized by SSB in the state capital Lucknow between 9 and 12 September. In this, Pooja Yadav won the gold medal representing ITBP in the 62 kg weight category. Whereas, Mansi Yadav of Banaras won the bronze medal representing Uttar Pradesh Police in the 55 kg weight category.

On Friday, this information was given by the coach of both the wrestlers, Ravindra Yadav (Uttar Pradesh Police Wrestling Instructor). Pooja Yadav, who won the gold medal, is a resident of Lohta Bhatti. Mansi Yadav is a resident of Badi Piyari Varanasi. Both the international wrestlers started their practice from Sigra Stadium itself. Uttar Pradesh Wrestling Association and Varanasi Wrestling Association have congratulated both the players on winning the medals.
