Maha Kumbh 2025: Devotees who come to Kashi Vishwanath temple for darshan have a strong desire to have the touch darshan of Baba Vishwanath. But due to sudden increase in crowd in the sanctum sanctorum and obstruction in the darshan arrangements, the temple administration had put a temporary ban on it. Now this ban has been extended till Mahakumbh event.
The ban will continue till Mahakumbh
Chief Executive Officer of Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Vishwa Bhushan Mishra informed that this step has been taken to ensure easy darshan of the devotees.
- purpose of crowd control: The crowd in the sanctum sanctorum should not be uncontrolled and all the devotees can easily have darshan of Baba, hence the ban on touch darshan will continue.
- New Year’s arrangement: Earlier this ban was imposed only during the New Year, because a large number of devotees were expected to come at that time.
Estimate of 10 crore devotees coming to Mahakumbh
During the celebration of Mahakumbh 2025, approximately 10 crore devotees Is expected to come to Varanasi. Keeping in mind that the devotees coming to see Baba Vishwanath should not face any inconvenience, the temple administration has almost completed its preparations.
Record made on New Year: 12.5 lakh devotees reached Kashi
The temple administration said that 31 December 2024 And 1 January 2025 A huge crowd of devotees gathered.
- 31st December: 5,07,321 devotees visited.
- 1 January: 7,43,699 devotees took blessings of Baba Vishwanath.
- total visitors:total in two days 12,51,020 Devotees reached the temple.
This figure has set a new record, as this was the first time in last months that such a large number of devotees had darshan in a single day.
Temple administration preparations
- Special arrangements have been made in the temple premises to maintain smooth crowd management.
- Despite the ban on touch darshan, separate queues and digital screens have been arranged to provide a pleasant experience of Baba’s darshan to the devotees.
- Additional arrangements will also be made for security and convenience during the Maha Kumbh event.
