Jagdalpur, July 15 (HS). In Bastar Gocha Mahaparva today, on Monday, 22 idols of Lord Jagannath, Mata Subhadra and Balabhadra Swami installed in Gundicha Mandir-Sirhasar Bhawan were taken down from the seat and devotees thronged to the confluence of the Gods. During this time, devotees can worship the idols of Lord Jagannath, Mata Subhadra and Balabhadra Swami themselves and can reach the idols of God, this is available only for a few hours on the day of Bahuda Gocha. Shortly after this, under the Bahuda Gocha Rath Yatra Puja Vidhan, 22 idols of Lord Jagannath, Mata Subhadra and Balabhadra Swami were mounted on a chariot and reached the Srimandir on Monday after nine days via the Rath Parikrama route. During this, a large number of devotees reached for darshan while the devotees traditionally saluted by firing tupki. In the Srimandir, with the chanting of Sri Jagannath and proclamation of Hari Bolo, after the worship ritual to ward off the evil eye from the idols of the Lord as per tradition, in the Kapat-Feda worship ritual, after the dialogue and persuasion with Mata Lakshmi who returned to the Srimandir in anger on the Panchami Tithi, after the Lakshmi-Narayan dialogue, the idols of Lord Jagannath, Mata Subhadra and Balabhadra Swami were installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the Srimandir till the upcoming Bastar Gocha festival.

Today, despite continuous rain on Monday, devotees kept arriving in large numbers since morning to attend the Bahuda Goncha Rath Yatra of Bastar Goncha festival. At the same time, to carry out the tradition of saluting Lord Jagannath with Tupki, the main attraction of Bastar Goncha, Tupki and Peng sellers from rural areas also reached in large numbers and men and women kept selling Tupki at the squares and intersections of the city. In this confluence of faith, the demand for Tupki was more in Bahuda Goncha Rath Yatra than in Shri Goncha Rath Yatra. The sound of Tupkis saluting Lord Jagannath kept resonating in the city throughout the day.

Vivek Pandey, President of Bastar Gocha Mahaparv Committee, said that the return of Lord Jagannath, Mata Subhadra and Balabhadra Swami to the temple is called Bahuda Gocha Rath Yatra Puja Vidhan. With the installation of Lord Jagannath on the chariot in the temple, the Bastar Gocha festival ended for the coming year. After this, all auspicious works will be postponed till the upcoming Devuthani on Wednesday, July 17, on the date of Ashadh Shukla Paksha Ekadashi.
