Bahraich, 25 September (HS). A unique case has come to light in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh. Here a fight between neighbours over the road took such a turn

It was found that 23 houses of both the parties were razed to the ground. On Wednesday, the district administration and police force reached the spot and got the kutcha and pucca houses demolished using bulldozers to implement the court order. All these houses were built on government land and when this was revealed during the measurement, it was found that the people living there were not allowed to live there.

A notice was issued to them to vacate the illegal encroachment.

According to the information, the land of Gata number 92, 211 and 212 in Sarai Jagna of Gram Panchayat under Fakharpur development block of Kaiserganj tehsil area is marked for barn and road in government records. The people of the village occupied this government land and got construction done. Some built pucca houses, while some built thatched huts and settled the whole family. In this way, more than 129 people were living here by making their residence. Some time ago, there was a dispute between the two parties regarding the road. After the police, the matter reached the District Land and Revenue. After this, when the investigation was done, it was found that the said land is government land in the revenue records, on which the whole locality has settled by occupying it. Hundreds of kutcha pucca houses have been built on the land. Calling it illegal to occupy government land and construct houses illegally, a year ago in 2023, the Revenue Department had directed the people living there illegally to vacate the land. Along with this, the revenue personnel had issued a notice. Even after the notice was issued, people did not remove the occupation from the land. On this, on the orders of the court, the District Administration and Revenue Department took action today to free the land from occupation.

To free the government land from encroachment, a team of the Revenue Department led by SDM IAS Alok Kumar arrived. In the presence of officials as well as heavy police and PAC, action was taken to demolish the permanent houses with a bulldozer. Videography was also done during this. Regarding this action, the villagers said that we have been living in the houses for the last 50 years. But now the revenue personnel have issued notices to take possession of this land and are making us homeless by demolishing our houses.

SDM Alok Kumar said that in the first phase, 23 houses have been demolished today with a bulldozer. There are eight to nine shops among them. The process of clearing the land and handing it over under the supervision of the Revenue Department is being carried out. For security, a lot of police and PAC personnel along with women police personnel have been deployed.
