Dehradun, 07 September (HS). The charm of the Char Dham Yatra has started returning once again. So far, 20 lakh 52 thousand 897 devotees have reached Badrinath-Kedarnath Dham for darshan. The number of pilgrims is expected to increase further in the coming days. Currently, more than five thousand pilgrims are reaching both the Dhams every day. The Badri-Kedar Temple Committee is excited about the unexpected increase in the number of pilgrims.
Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) President Ajendra Ajay says that the committee is committed to providing easy and smooth darshan arrangements to the pilgrims. He said that the monsoon is now slowly coming to an end. The number of pilgrims in Badrinath Dham and Kedarnath Dham is increasing considerably. Every day more than five thousand devotees are reaching both the Dhams for darshan. The Badrinath Dham and Kedarnath Dham Yatra route is in good condition. Landslides are occurring at some places due to rain but the road route is smooth and the Yatra is continuing. Today it is raining intermittently in the Dhams but the weather is generally favorable for the Yatra.
BKTC President Ajendra Ajay said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the able leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Char Dham Yatra has started again rapidly. This time during the disaster, the Chief Minister himself stayed in the Kedarnath area and kept giving directions for rescue operations. As a result, pilgrims are again coming to visit the Dhams with a sense of security and confidence. The temple committee is committed to providing easy and smooth darshan arrangements to the pilgrims.
1108471 devotees reached Kedarnath Dham and 942077 devotees reached Badrinath
According to BKTC Chief Executive Officer Vijay Prasad Thapliyal, so far more than 20.5 lakh pilgrims have visited Badrinath Dham and Kedarnath Dham. So far this Yatra year, more than 942077 devotees have visited Badrinath Dham. 1108471 devotees have visited Baba Bholenath in Kedarnath Dham. A large number of devotees are coming to visit the adjoining temples, second Kedar Madmaheshwar and third Kedar Tungnath. More than 94 thousand devotees have reached Tungnath for darshan. So far 2052897 devotees have visited Badrinath-Kedarnath Dham.
BKTC media in-charge Dr. Harish Gaur said that during heavy rains, the temple committee organized bhandaars and free accommodation was arranged for pilgrims in rest houses. Rain shelters have been built in the darshan queue to protect pilgrims from rain in both the Dhams and bonfires have been arranged to protect them from winter. The temple committee has established coordination with all the concerned departments, police administration and travel related agencies for any kind of help to the pilgrims. The number of pilgrims in the Dhams is expected to increase further during the upcoming Shraddha Paksha and Navratri.
