Jind, June 17 (HS). 22-year-old Ashish Khatkar, a resident of village Badhana in Alewa block, has been selected as a fighter pilot in the Air Force after training for three years in Khadagwasla, Maharashtra and one year in Hyderabad. When he reached his village Badhana on Monday, the villagers welcomed him with garlands. By becoming a fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force, Ashish Khatkar has brought glory not only to his village but to the entire Haryana.

Fighter pilot Ashish Khatkar told that his father is working as a government teacher. While mother Mahidron Devi is a housewife. He told that he passed 10th and 12th class from Saraswati Public School of Naguran village. It was his childhood dream to become a big officer in the army, because till date there has been no big officer in his family. He told that he got selected in NDA in March 2020. After three years of hard work, he passed out on 30 May 2023. After a year of flying training in Hyderabad, he was commissioned as a fighter pilot with the oath of flying officer on 15 June 2024. During training, he was ranked in the top 5.

On Monday, Ashish Khatkar's father Bijendra Khatkar told that he is currently posted in Bidhar, Karnataka. His dream was to see his son in the post of a high officer in the army. Ashish has fulfilled his dream today. Father Bijendra told that sometimes childhood memories get so deeply embedded in the minds of children that when they grow up, they become their passion. One such passion was seen in Ashish. At the age of five, Ashish was very fond of watching fighter planes. In his childhood itself, he had decided to become a fighter pilot and today after 22 years, he has fulfilled his dream.
