Badal Gaur, the mastermind behind creating and running fake firms, arrested

Raipur, August 6 (HS). The Central GST team arrested Badal Gaur on Tuesday under Section 69 (1) of the CGST Act, 2017 and produced him in the court.

CGST Raipur Commissioner Mohammad Abu Sama IRS said that investigation revealed that Raipur resident Badal Gaur is the mastermind behind creating and running these fake firms. The CJM court has approved the judicial custody of the accused. CGST Raipur Commissionerate is continuously taking action in connection with fake billing. So far, 19 people have been arrested.

It is noteworthy that the officials of CGST Headquarters, Raipur conducted a search operation and exposed the network of 6 fake firms. These firms were actively engaged in making fake invoices without making any supply of goods and services. Based on special intelligence and data analysis, it was revealed that many fake firms have been created to wrongly take fake input tax credit of GST and pass it on. After extensive surveillance, the CGST team identified that place and took action.

CGST Raipur Commissioner Mohammad Abu Sama IRS said that on being questioned with facts and evidence, the mastermind Badal Gaur accepted to have created a group of fictitious firms for the purpose of passing on fake input tax credit. He said that till now he has received fake input tax credit amounting to Rs 29.13 crore. Fake input tax credit worth Rs 34.23 crore has been passed on to other taxpayers.
