Ranchi, 03 December (HS). Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi on Tuesday targeted the state government. Through social media, Marandi on Tuesday surrounded Hemant Sarkar and asked a big question that for how long will the public continue to suffer?

Marandi said that due to vacant posts in constitutional institutions, the general public is not getting justice. Posts in important institutions like Lokayukta, Information Commission and Human Rights Commission in the state are vacant for a long time, due to which people’s applications are not being heard. He said that more than 2000 cases are pending in the Lokayukta office. The tenure of former Lokayukta Justice DN Upadhyay ended in June 2021 and the post has been vacant since then. Due to this, the hearing of corruption related cases has come to a standstill.

Marandi said that the State Human Rights Commission is also completely closed. This commission, created to protect human rights, has not had a chairman and members for a long time, due to which people are being deprived of getting justice in cases of human rights violations. The condition of the State Women’s Commission is also very bad. This commission works to protect the problems of women and their rights but due to the absence of chairman and members, complaints are not being heard.

Due to vacant posts in the Information Commission also, lack of transparency in administrative work and accountability of the government is weakening. Besides, corruption is being promoted. He said that the Supreme Court has also stressed the need to make timely appointments in constitutional institutions but concrete steps have not been taken in this direction yet in Jharkhand.
