Saharsa, April 23 (HS). The victory day of the great freedom fighter Babu Veer Kunwar Singh was celebrated at East N West Teachers Training College, Patuaha in the city. On this occasion, Dr. Rajneesh Ranjan, Chairman of East N West College Group, College Principal Dr. Nagendra Kumar Jha, B.Ed Department Head Dr. Basant Kumar Mishra, Professor Head Dr. Priyanka Pandey paid tribute to Babu Veer Kunwar Singh by paying floral tributes on his oil painting.
Addressing the Vijayotsav program organized under the leadership of College Principal cum Public Relations Officer Abhay Manoj, the Chairman said that the revolutionary movement of 1857 AD is considered as the first freedom movement of India. On this day, 23rd April, the brave Kunwar Singh had regained his control over his fort at Jagdishpur by defeating the British. Therefore today is celebrated as Vijayotsav Diwas.
He said that for many decades after independence, there was a conspiracy to suppress the heroic stories of Babu Kunwar Singh and other freedom fighters, the result of which was that the brave martyrs who actually sacrificed their lives for Mother India were not remembered. But today's generation has forgotten them. While discussing the personality and work of Babu Veer Kunwar Singh, the Principal laid special emphasis on the concept of nationalism and its implications.
The college professors present on this occasion said that Babu Veer Kunwar Singh will always be remembered in the pages of history as an embodiment of national unity, integrity and self-respect. He said that our young generation should learn patriotism from Babu Kunwar Singh and contribute to the development of the country with full devotion and purity in the service of Maa Bharati and the society. On this occasion, college professor and co-nodal Anshu Kumar Gupta along with Others were present.
