• After receiving the primary complaint of this irregularity, the Uttar Pradesh government had issued formal orders on May 3, 2024 for a detailed vigilance investigation into the matter.

FIR number 0018 has been registered in Lucknow Sector Police Station on the complaint of Inspector Dhruv Chandra Maurya of Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Establishment, Lucknow. A total of 5 people have been named accused in this case:

1. Mohammad Azam Khan – The then Chairman, Uttar Pradesh State Haj Committee.

2. laiq ahmed – The then Secretary, Haj Committee (Retd.).

3. Dr. MAA Khan – The then Secretary, Haj Committee (Retd.).

4. Mohammad Ayub – Proprietor, ‘Amish Developers’ (Private Firm).

5. Mustaqeem Ahmed – Accomplice/accused.

Vigilance has registered a case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the accused. 420 (Fraud) And 120-B (criminal conspiracy) together with Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 A serious case has been registered under sections 7, 12, 13(1)(b) and 13(2) of the Indian Penal Code.

During the investigation, the Vigilance team conducted a thorough verification of the registry office documents, tender processes, proposals of Haj Committee meetings and related revenue records. The investigation clearly found that the rules were completely ignored with the intention of providing undue economic benefit to the private firm. After the case was registered, now the detailed investigation of this entire episode has been handed over to Vigilance Inspector Sanjay Kumar Singh. This new FIR is proving to be another big blow for Azam Khan, who is already facing legal trouble in many other cases.
