Ayodhya Ram temple offering theft case: 8 accused will appear in court today, big decision will also be taken on the pension account of the accused

Today (27 July 2026) is very important from the point of view of the legal process in the much talked about Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple offering theft case of Ayodhya. All eight accused in the case will be produced in the court of Special Judge Anti Corruption Court (Prevention of Corruption Act) Rajat Verma today. Considering the security arrangements, there is every possibility that the production of all these accused lodged in jail will be conducted through video conferencing. During the hearing, investigator Ashutosh Tiwari will file an application before the court to extend the judicial custody remand of the accused.

Remand was extended on July 13, hearing will be held again today

Earlier, during the hearing held on July 13, Judge in-charge Pratibha Narayan had extended the judicial custody of all the eight accused till July 27. As per rules, the court will issue an order to extend the remand period only after being satisfied with the facts and arguments presented by the investigator. For impartial investigation of this case, a new SIT team of senior officers has been formed under the leadership of IG Kiran S, which is investigating the entire episode in every detail.

There is a problem with the pension account of accused Subhash.

Another most important aspect of today’s hearing is related to the frozen pension bank account of accused Subhash Srivastava. Subhash Srivastava had filed an application in the court on July 18 demanding re-activation (unfreeze) of his pension account. It was said in the application that due to closure of the bank account, it is not possible for his family to earn a living and pay the required monthly installments for the house.

Clear report sought from CO on three points

In the last hearing held on July 23, the court had expressed dissatisfaction with the report presented by the investigator. After this, the judge had directed Area Officer (CO) Ashutosh Tiwari to clarify his written report on three major points by July 27. The court has asked that under which legal provision the pension account was frozen, to which court the information was given and a copy of the order granting permission to freeze the account should be presented. Today, after reviewing this report, the court can give a major decision.
