The recent case of alleged theft of offerings in the grand and historic Ram Temple (Ram Mandir, Ayodhya) complex of Ayodhya has deeply shocked crores of Ram devotees in the country and abroad. After feeling grief over this incident and hurting the spiritual dignity of the temple, Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has taken a major step.
To restore the sanctity, dignity and divine energy of the temple, a 10-day special penance and purification ritual has been started in the premises. In line with the ancient faith and religious traditions of Sanatan Dharma, this ritual symbolizes an apology to Lord Shri Ram and a strong resolve not to allow any such untoward incident to be repeated in future.
The grand ritual is going on under the supervision of 70 Vedic teachers.
This ritual is being performed on a very large scale to maintain the purity of the history of Ram Temple:

Purification of premises: The process of purification is going on simultaneously in the main sanctum sanctorum of the temple, the huge ramparts and various important places in the complex.

Group of Vedic Acharyas: clans from all corners of the country 70 great Vedic teachers This entire 10 day ritual is being completed.

Religious practices: For purification, continuous Vedic mantra chanting, special Rudrabhishek of Mahadev, sacred havan-yajna, Ramarchan puja and other scriptural religious rituals are being performed.

According to Hindu scriptures and Sanatan tradition, if theft, desecration or any kind of unethical and inappropriate incident occurs in any Jagat Devasthan or temple premises, then it is considered mandatory to perform atonement rituals to remove the defects. Due to this, the spiritual power and dignity of the temple remains intact.
New strict arrangements implemented in the temple for security

Statement of Mahant Govind Dev Giri: Trust Treasurer Mahant Govind Dev Giri clearly said on this matter that, “The greatest and real atonement for any mistake is that it should not be repeated, that is, the incident should never happen again in the future.”

Impenetrable Security Circle: The Trust has implemented new arrangements to make the offerings coming to the temple, the security of donation boxes (Hundi) and the entire distribution system more robust, digital and transparent than ever before, so that the possibility of any kind of irregularities in the future can be completely eliminated.

Expressing deep pain over this incident, Mahant Govind Dev Giri said that he himself is atoning for this mistake at a personal level. Under this, he is following special name-chanting, reciting stotras and rigorous religious practices every day. He believes that it is extremely heart-wrenching for such an incident to happen on the sacred land where Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram himself is seated in child form, hence, it is the supreme responsibility of the Trust to absolve the blame and bring back the spiritual purity of the temple.
Ram Temple is not just a grand building built of stones, but is the center of immense faith and life of Sanatani Hindus around the world. Keeping this supreme sentiment in mind, the Trust is trying to further strengthen the faith of crores of devotees through this atonement ritual.
