The case of alleged theft of offerings and donations in the grand Ram temple of Ayodhya has now reached the doorstep of the country’s highest court. Following strict instructions from the Supreme Court, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) is going to submit the interim report of this sensitive case to the court on Monday. However, the SIT team has sought some more time from the state government to completely complete the investigation and prepare its final report.
After the interim report is submitted to the Supreme Court in this big case of financial irregularities regarding donations received in Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, the direction of further investigation will be decided on the basis of the upcoming instructions of the court. It is worth noting that the SIT had earlier submitted its interim report to the Uttar Pradesh government, but considering the seriousness of the case and the comprehensiveness of the evidence, the final report is taking some time.
SIT was formed on June 13, many big fishes are under investigation
This high-profile case started last month after donation theft was revealed. Soon after, on the official recommendation of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, the Uttar Pradesh government constituted a 3-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) on June 13. Initially, the SIT was given only 15 days to complete the investigation, but in view of the complexity, its tenure was extended for 15 days on July 1.
The 9-page preliminary report submitted by the SIT to the government on June 23 had created a stir. Based on that report, swift FIRs were registered in the case, the main accused were sent behind bars and even many senior officials of the temple trust had to resign from their posts. However, till yesterday there were also discussions that the team can give the final report in 24 hours, after which major changes are being prepared in the temple administration and the calculation system of offerings.
Deputy CM Maurya said – the culprits will have to face ‘Hanumanji’s mace’
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has also taken a strong stance on this alleged theft related to the offerings of Ram Temple. He clearly said that like others, the state government is also eagerly waiting for the final report of the SIT. Assuring the people of the state, the Deputy CM said, “Be patient and have faith, no one will be spared. Whoever is found guilty of donation theft will have to face the mace of Hanumanji.”
Amidst this political turmoil and court proceedings, a very important and big meeting of Ram Mandir Trust is going to be held in Ayodhya next week on 22nd July, in which tough decisions can be taken on this issue.
The entire investigation is going on under the direct supervision of the Supreme Court.
This entire matter is now directly in the notice of the Supreme Court. On July 13, the court had heard various petitions requesting an impartial and timely investigation into the case. During the hearing, the apex court had issued a notice to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust seeking its reply and had given clear instructions to the SIT to present the current status report of the investigation before the court. The eyes of the entire country are fixed on the stand of the Supreme Court on the interim report to be presented today.
