Ranchi, June 03 (HS). Piramal Foundation organized awareness programs on Environment Day on Monday in various villages under Kanke and Ormanjhi blocks. Collaborating with the Ministry of Water Power, the School of Climate and Sustainability team of Piramal Foundation aims to conserve and optimize water use in these villages.
Led by Senior Program Manager Vijesh Chaudhary and Program Leader Kriti Rani, Gandhi Fellows Vikas Kumar, Sujoy Das, Priyanka Yadav, Pragya Gargi, and Adarsh Jain conducted these programs in the villages of Okhargara, Patgai, Baruh, Oyna, Sadma, Santi, Balu, Tendar, Khatnaga, Chama, Batta Kandu and Madanpur, Pithoria, Satkanadu, Kelhyakanadu, Chama, etc.
It was told in the program that Environment Day is celebrated every year on June 5. Its purpose is to raise global awareness towards the environment and encourage collective efforts to solve environmental issues. Environment Day reminds us that it is our responsibility to protect the earth and its resources. This day inspires us to be conscious of our environment and take concrete steps to protect it. If we all work together, we can protect our environment and provide a healthy and safe environment for future generations.
Kriti Rani said that 18 programs were organized in different villages from 1st to 3rd. The events included 48 attractive activities. These included making feeders for birds from plastic bottles, soil testing, debate, environmental painting, rallies, oath, mehndi competition, making useful things from useless material, bicycle race, bunding of barren land and raising awareness about planting trees. Through these activities, more than 700 women, more than 300 children and 200 men were educated about environmental protection and awareness.
