Awareness and education programs conducted on drug addiction and substance abuse

Jammu, 19 October (HIST). Nehru Yuva Kendra Jammu, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, organized an awareness and education program on drug addiction and substance abuse under the aegis of My Bharat at Sunshine High School, Kandoli, Nagrota on Saturday.

The main goal of the program was to educate youth about the harmful effects of drug abuse including physical, mental and social issues. The program encouraged youth to get involved in positive activities such as sports, arts, cultural events and community service while promoting understanding and support for those struggling with drug addiction.

In this program Sumit Kohli, Tehsildar Nagrota; Vinod, DSP Nagrota; Parvez, SHO Nagrota; And honored by special guests including Dr. Adarsh ​​Sharma. He stressed the importance of addressing this serious issue among the youth. Sumit Kohli highlighted the role of rehabilitation centers and encouraged participants to tell others about these resources.

More than 50 youth participants participated in it. Meanwhile, the students enlivened the topic in English, Hindi and Dogri. Apart from this, competitions in poetry writing and poster making were also held. Nukkad Natak (Street Play) was also presented which aimed to educate the audience about the dangers of drug addiction. Medals were awarded to the winners of the competitions.
