Ayodhya Lok Sabha seat: Samajwadi Party leader Awadhesh Prasad, who won the election from Faizabad Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh, has also resigned from his assembly membership. Awadhesh Prasad was an MLA from Milkipur assembly seat of Faizabad. After winning the MP seat, he has resigned from the post of MLA. The SP MP has sent his resignation to the Speaker of the Assembly.
Awadhesh Prasad, who snatched a seat like Ayodhya from BJP, is the only Dalit candidate who has won from an unreserved seat. This time Akhilesh made him a candidate from an unreserved seat. Awadhesh Prasad belongs to the Pasi community and is one of the founding members of the Samajwadi Party. He has also been a close leader of Mulayam Singh Yadav.
This time in UP Lok Sabha elections, Faizabad Lok Sabha seat was in discussion. BJP's performance in UP was very poor but it suffered the biggest setback on this seat because Lord Shri Ram's city Ayodhya comes in Faizabad Lok Sabha. Everyone is surprised by BJP's defeat on a seat like Ayodhya. SP President Akhilesh Yadav's calculation of caste equation on this seat has been miraculous.
BJP lost in Ayodhya
BJP made full use of Ayodhya and Ram Mandir issue in the entire election. From PM Modi to CM Yogi Adityanath, the opposition and Bharat Gathbandhan are targeting this. From Ram Mandir to airport, highway, railway station and many other development works were done in Ayodhya, but BJP had to face defeat in the same Ayodhya. Which was shocking for everyone.
On this seat, SP leader Awadhesh Prasad defeated BJP's two-time MP and candidate Lallu Singh by a margin of more than 50 thousand votes. Awadhesh Prasad will now be seen doing central politics with SP president Akhilesh Yadav in Delhi.
