Firozabad, July 14 (HS). On Sunday evening, a truck hit an auto while passengers were dropping off in Tundla police station area. The auto driver died in the accident. While five passengers were injured. Police admitted the injured to the hospital and sent the dead body for postmortem.
Ashok Kumar (52), a resident of Nagla Vishnu of Thana Linepar area, was taking care of his family by driving an auto. On Sunday evening, he was coming from Firozabad to Tundla with passengers. As soon as he stopped the auto to drop passengers near Nagla Khar of Thana Tundla area, suddenly a truck coming from behind at a high speed hit the auto. The accident was so severe that auto driver Ashok died on the spot. While the auto passengers Jaipal, resident of Nagla Sundar village of Thana Narkhi, Ramnaresh, resident of village Salempur Nagla Khar, Veerpal, resident of Hazratpur, Munir Khan, resident of village Chulhawali and Devi Prasad, resident of Civil Court Compound, were injured. After the incident, the driver fled from the spot with the truck. The police chased him and caught him near the toll plaza. The police sent the injured to the district hospital for treatment.
In this regard, Tundla police station in-charge Anuj Kumar says that the police has seized the truck. The injured are being treated at the district hospital. Action will be taken after registering a report on receiving the complaint.
