Australia’s first innings ends at 337 runs, takes lead of 157 runs

Adelaide, 7 December (HS). Australia has strengthened its hold in the second Test (day-night) match being played here against India under the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The Australian team scored 337 runs in its first innings on the second day. Australia’s total lead on the basis of first innings is now 157 runs. Head scored 140 runs in 141 balls with the help of 17 fours and 4 sixes. Apart from Head, Marnus Labuschagne also played a brilliant half-century of 64 runs. India had scored 180 runs in its first innings.

The Australian team, which came to bat after bowling out India for 180 runs, also had a bad start and Jasprit Bumrah gave India its first success by dismissing Usman Khawaja on a total score of only 24 runs. Khawaja scored 13 runs.

From here, Labuschagne and Nathan McSweeney played cautiously and made a partnership of 67 runs for the second wicket. On the total score of 91, Bumrah gave India its second success by dismissing McSweeney.
